George-20 Months

George is 20 months old today. We are only four short months away from not telling his age in months. It was really hard to do this update, because I know I am missing things or I put too much in areas. I want to remember every detail, but he is changing and growing so quickly it is hard to keep up just like his hair!

13102724_10101061313157291_425696655707867648_n

Weight: 28 lbs. I get a workout every time I lift him.

Health:  The last two months have been a roller coaster of a time with his health. We spent a week in the PICU in the beginning of March. Last week we had to go to Urgent Care because he was having a hard time breathing again, and we found that he has a double ear infection. We go back in a couple weeks to see if tubes are going to be necessary. My mom thinks that he is teething after seeing him at Easter. The only ones left are the back 2 year molars, so yippee.

13095944_10101061313341921_6813295641100365166_n

Diet: He is still big on meats and carbs. He loves raisins, clementines, yogurt, and chicken nuggets. He is sitting at the table with just a booster seat now, and his utensil usage is getting really good. There are a few things I still don’t trust him with, and they are saved for the nights we do a bath. We started making him smoothies every day to get his veggies in. He loves spinach and blueberry smoothies, but wont eat either when it’s not in a smoothie. I bought these which saves us so much money with not buying as many pre-made packets, and they work great for these smoothies. He pretty much eats mostly what we eat, besides the veggies.

13086911_10101061313970661_6531196161720595751_o

Clothes:  18 month clothes are mostly too small, so he is swimming in 2T clothes since we can’t find many 18-24 month items. Little boys in shorts has got to be the cutest thing. He is still in size 5 diapers, and moved to a size 6 shoe.

13062990_10101061313521561_619174433508515157_o

Sleeping:  He sleeps at night from 8pm-about 6:30 am. He sleeps through the night pretty regularly still. He goes down really easy at night, but naps are a different story. He fights naps and will scream and play instead of taking the nap. He eventually wears himself out and konks out. Once he does take a nap, he usually sleeps for 2-3 hours.

13071845_10101061312952701_8426484754038127767_o

Likes: He loves to explore. He is so very curious. Of course he wants to be everywhere he isn’t supposed to be. He is obsessed with legos and anything with wheels. He loves dancing. The kid bops around anytime music is on. He loves to sing to worship music. We have music on A LOT around George, but he seems to sing only when we are in church or when I have K-Love on. No joke. (He also likes to talk all through church…) He is OBSESSED with being outside and going to his daddy’s workshop. He loves exploring all the tools Tom has (like the broken chainsaw here). He still loves to play with scarves and play dress up with them. He loves climbing, and his current favorite spot is in the middle of the kitchen table. I am honestly surprised he hasn’t climbed out of his crib yet. We are holding on to that as long as we can! (Although at the sitter’s, he did climb into his crib then freaked out when he couldn’t get back out.)

13072687_10101061312992621_8529840286184818765_o

Dislikes: He hates mornings right now. He throws the largest tantrums when he gets up because he is hungry. He is not happy when we tell him no and try to keep him from doing dangerous things. He is a sassy pants when he doesn’t get to do what he wants right then. He isn’t a fan of the lawn mower. He still isn’t a fan of veggies unless it is in the smoothie state. He does not like to sit still for photos anymore. He is always busy and on to the next thing.

13041359_10101061313057491_6530913469048156099_o

Milestones: Gosh he talks a lot. Most of it is unrecognizable, but he is a chatty little guy. His new words are ugh oh, more, bye bye, and baby (babee). Others have heard him say thanks and George, but Tom and I haven’t been so lucky to hear those. He does sign “more”, but I also think that he believes it also means please. We have had to re-do operation-take away-pacy due to the hospital stay, but I think we are on our way out. He gets it maybe once a week now when he is having a really hard time and neither of us have the patience to deal with the tantrum. George is so smart. He is really good with spatial awareness. It is insane what he is able to do with stacking and putting things into tiny holes. He is really into the concepts of how things fit together and the mechanics of it all. He knows how to detach/reattach things and how to turn things on. His brain is just on fire right now with absorbing information and then putting it into practice. He can walk from the door to the car now without me having to hold him. He even knows which door is his door. He cleans up his own messes now. It is ridiculously cute to see him dab his face to get it clean. Big milestone: we started potty training this past weekend! We weren’t really going to push this until he turned 2, but he has been telling us when he needs to pee for the past couple weeks. So we figured we could at least try and see what happens. He has gone pee twice in the actual potty since we started two days ago. I never thought I would be so excited about bodily functions! Hopefully it means the less I will have to deal with said bodily functions down the road.

13055097_10101061314020561_1126922117791222347_o

Quirks: My favorite quirk of his is that when you ask for a kiss he gives you his forehead for you to kiss. It is so stinking cute. He points to the things that he wants in a staccato manner. When he hugs he has to put his arms under your arm pits. He really does want to help you do things, so this is generally how I get him out of tantrums. Giving him a “project” to do makes him feel independent and usually stops him from crying. He loves to help carry his bag (aka drag it), put away dishes, put away toys, and load laundry into the machines and turn on those machines. When he is done with his food plates/cups, he runs and throws them in the sink like he is doing a slam dunk. This weekend we were building borders around our trees, and he would pick up rocks and put them (sort of) into place. I hope that he always wants to be a helper. He is very silly, and his personality is starting to shine as a big goof. He loves to make us and himself laugh. If he doesn’t feel like he is getting your attention, he will climb in your lap and bear hug you around the neck. I love it.

Nicknames:  Stink, Booger, Gdubs, Gman, Little man, Georgie, Georgieman, and Boogs.

We parents are:  doing really good. We just got out of the worst shift so we are getting a lot more time as a family. We feel like we are finally in a good groove as a family unit. We have been working on the yard a lot lately which makes us really happy to see things coming together the way that we want. Plus it’s always nice to get outside for a little bit every day.

13092158_10101061313736131_4412422391763394354_n

The dogs are: loving this weather. Crosby is basically an outside dog now. He goes out when we wake up and doesn’t come back in really until we go to sleep. Grace likes the comfort of the couch a little too much to give it up all day. They love George, and they are so good with him. They let him beat them up since he is very aggressive with his petting,  and he tries to ride them. George tries to give them their food and hands them their toys in all fairness.

13041279_10101061313825951_2310871567208369035_o

I want to remember this hair. Some days I think we are ready for a cut. Other days I just love every thing about its messiness.

I just love this little munchkin so much! I can’t wait to see what the next couple months bring with summer!

George-18 Months

How is this littler booger a year and a half old?!?

12791032_10101007515089051_7137713803289689285_n

Weight: He is 27 lbs.

Health:  This kid and teething. He now has 16 teeth. He had a rough time health wise the last month. He had an ear infection and a bout with RSV. We are doing much better now. He also endured quite possibly the worst diaper rash. It broke the skin in several places. It was so sad to have to change him because he was so uncomfortable. He still acts like he is teething right now with chewing on everything in sight (including his own hands), so I don’t know if those last four molars are coming in. I thought they come in much later!

12742077_10101007514999231_759883331688892488_n

Diet: He has the same appetite. He loves meats and carbs. We still struggle with getting him to eat vegetables. It is a little frustrating because he used to do so well, and he would eat more veggies than anything else. Thank goodness for squeeze packets. He loves veggies that way! He smacks his lips and starts salivating when we get them out. He will always eat oatmeal, rolls, chicken nuggets, and bananas. We have been really working on his utensil training. Some days he does a really good job; others a bath is a necessity. Many times, he will pick up his food with his hand and then try to stick it on his fork.

12744749_10101007515283661_2966771913733612137_n

Clothes:  He is mostly in 18 month clothes. On tops we can also use 18-24, we just have to roll the sleeves up. 18-24 month pants are way too big. He is in still size 5 diaper and 5 shoe.

Sleeping:  We are officially down to one nap, and he takes it right at lunch time. He sleeps at night from 8-about 5:45am. (We have tried keeping him up later at night, but he still won’t sleep past 6.) He sleeps through the night pretty regularly still. Thank the Lord for that. Those nights while he was sick were absolutely brutal.

12745543_10101007514954321_578052384605671573_n

Likes: He loves the dog bed in the kitchen. Jumping on anything is a big hit. He LOVES blocks and stacking things. He loves pointing at things. Also proud parent moment, he started making fart noises with his hand/arm, so that is a fun past time for him. He likes to take my phone and turn it on and off and pretend he is talking on it. He loves to crawl in our laps. (I have loved how snuggly he has gotten over these past two months!) He absolutely loves to be outside. We have had a few nice days where we can go roam our yard and play on our slide. He loves to chase the dogs and throw them their balls. He thinks it is so fun to climb our hills and just be outside in general. I can’t wait for more consistently warm weather! He also loves this blue chair.

12742261_10101007515288651_7173976707900895386_n

Dislikes: He does not like it when I am too slow with getting his milk cups ready. He did not like the Nebulizer and doing the breathing treatments. He does not like veggies. He also is not a fan of prayer time at dinner. He can see the food on the table and doesn’t understand why we have to hold hands and not be eating so we usually have to pray very loudly over his screams and clap for Jesus.

10298671_10101007515328571_2185562467807376695_n

Milestones: He hugs us intentionally. It is the most delightful thing. He can follow most instructions like put “this” away, go to “this” room, hand me “this.” He is actually a really good listener. We have had some temper tantrums, but for the most part if you tell him a couple times and help redirect his attention he will listen to you. His new words are ball, Bill, bana (banana), key key (kitty), mmm (milk), yep, and cah (car). He does his own babbling a lot so we have started trying to make up what he is saying which has turned into some pretty hilarious sayings. He blows kisses and gives you open mouth kisses. We have had a solid week without a pacy anywhere! No car, no bedtime…NO PACY! He still cries for a few minutes in the car, but we sing the ABCs (which he will mouth it trying to mimick me) and talk about what is outside to distract him. I have been super amazed!

12794526_10101007515094041_7160286392024336777_n

Quirks: He does this hunched over squat walk around the house. He just hunkers down and scuttles along. He does this scrunchy face smile where he crinkles his nose and shows you all his teeth. If you start laughing he will make himself laugh. He has had some issues with hitting. He has been hitting a lot of people. I tell him every morning that today is not the day to be a bully. Some days that message is received and other days it is not. But what is funny is when you try to correct him, he knows that he wasn’t supposed to do that so he will pull you in for a hug as you reprimand him for hitting and give you the best hug and a kiss. He is basically a sour patch kid commercial when it comes to hitting.

Nicknames:  Stink, Booger, Gdubs, Gman, Sweet cheeks, Little man, Georgie, Georgieman, and my most used right now is Boogs (short for another nickname booger).

We parents are:  tired. This has been rough couple of weeks. Tom’s quote, “We’re like college sophomores. We are still trying to figure things out, but we kind of know what we are doing. He is getting fed, and he has a roof over his head.” Our parenting in a nutshell some days. We have had a lot of family time this month too which has been nice. Also I am trying to comprehend how in the world he is 18 months old…That elephant used to be twice his size!

1916109_10101007515378471_2223056831894518064_n

The dogs are: driving us a little bonkers. I think they can feel spring coming, and so they want to basically live outside right now, which means that they bark at us A LOT to let them out. Crosby will come in from outside and within five minutes bark at us to let him back out. They are still sweet dogs though. George just loves them. However, the hitting is not just happening with people.  We are really trying to curb that in general, but with him hitting the dogs specifically. He does give them hugs and kisses their backs every night before bed.

12079109_10101007515099031_7659754485150772286_n

Every day I love this kid more and more. I still can’t believe that he is ours most days. I still wonder how in the heck we became parents. But God graced us with this wonderful delight of a human being. He has such a bright personality that I am really enjoying watching come out more and more. He is going to be a ham for sure!

We love you so much George!

George-16 Months

12362785_10100955986762231_4610963478012115312_o

Weight: He is just over 25 lbs.

Health:  This kid and teething. Seriously, they are just barreling in. He has 12 so far, 6 on top and another 6 on the bottom. He also has four cutting right now. FOUR. The last couple weeks he has been alright mood wise, but his nose is basically a leaky faucet. He has also had a really bad cough the last week working through this round of teeth.

Diet: Not much has changed the last two months. He eats what we eat for the most part. There aren’t many vegetables that he will eat, so he gets at least one squeeze pouch a day as a snack to make sure he is at least getting some veggies each day. He has started eating meat more regularly which is good. Carbs are still his favorite. He still will change his mind on how and what he will eat at any given moment. He will always eat oatmeal, rolls, and bananas. He actually will eat a banana like an adult by holding the peel now!

12356969_10100955986647461_1161251944441041454_o

Clothes:  This little dude grew this last month! He is basically in 18 month clothes. They are a little baggy, but he is way too big for 12 months, and there aren’t a lot of 12-18 months clothes out there. He also sized up in diapers and shoes, both size 5.

Sleeping:  Things have been so different this last month! He is sleeping through the night again-Thank the Lord! And when he does wake up, he usually can talk himself back to sleep. Yes talk himself back-we may have a sleep talker. Last month, I thought he was having night terrors because he would wake up with a bloodcurdling scream and couldn’t go back to sleep. I felt like we were back in the newborn stage. Thankfully that only lasted a couple weeks. We have been phasing out the second nap. It has been an adjustment though because he wants to now take a 2-3 hour nap right over lunch time. We’ll work it out, but I have noticed such a huge difference in his bedtime sleeping. He now sleeps from 8pm-7am. On the weekends he has even slept until 8 (one time 9am)! Sleeping in has never been sweeter.

12347853_10100955986722311_6315109128199288882_n

Likes: He loves the Tupperware cabinet and taking all of the Tupperware out. He is really into putting lids on things now, so the Tupperware has been fun for him. He loves heights and climbing. Now that he has figured it out, he wants to climb everything. This stage is absolutely terrifying because he is not afraid of anything. I am just waiting for the day where he can climb out of his crib. I am having a panic attack thinking about that. He loves to read, play with legos, dog toys, getting into boxes/baskets, and throwing things. He is also really into pointing to things. He loves to make anything a scarf, but particularly loves putting our belts around his neck like a necklace. He still really loves brooms or anything in stick fashion. He got a little swifter for Christmas, and I am fairly positive he would sleep with it if we let him. He loves Christmas lights and trying to plug them in on his own. He also loves putting things in the fireplace. the other day I found it stuffed with Tupperware.

Dislikes: He does not like to be told no. He doesn’t want to take pictures at all. He doesn’t like when I take him off the couch where he has so proudly climbed and now wants to face dive off of. He hates PDA, so we don’t get kisses or holding hands at all. Hugs are very few as well unless he is super tired.

Milestones: He is “talking” a lot, but not many new real words. He did add night night and uh oh to his repertoire. Mostly, he just repeats the main syllable, like right now he is really into Bs. George now will go brush his teeth when I ask. I don’t know how this happened because a few weeks ago he acted like it was torture. He did have his first dentist appointment. He enjoyed his first Christmas tree. We are working on using silverware. Some days it goes well, and others it is a hot mess. He claps and waves bye bye more regularly now with the right timing too. He gets the concept of drawing and holding a pencil. We got some chunky crayons for Christmas so we are going to do a lot more with this development now.

12346303_10100955986567621_1240783813638669701_n

Quirks: He has this evil chuckle when you tell him no, which basically means he is going to do it anyway. He sits in the middle of the kitchen when I get his bottle ready or get a squeeze pouch out. He will even sit when I tell him too, like he is a dog. He crawls into our laps and actually will sit really nicely. This is really the only cuddling he will do.  When I sing him to sleep he grabs my neck and presses his forehead against my chin and giggles while I attempt to sing like that.

We parents are:  We have really enjoyed the last two months with day and midnight shifts for Tom. It has been busy with the holidays, but we have gotten a little more family time. Tom has also been working like crazy to fix up the living space in our basement.

The dogs are: now 5! George and the dogs get along so well. George is now petting them a lot more gently, which is a huge step up from the smacking and intense grabbing that was happening. The dogs enjoy that he is an endless supply of goodies between the spilled milk and food thrown everywhere.

12339588_10100955986976801_2936935463056814907_o

This little man just warms my heart. He is growing so much and so fast!

George-14 Months

I wanted to still keep up with George’s growth and milestones even though he is now past a year, but I am only going to do it every other month on here. He is still changing so much, and there is a lot I want to remember.

IMG_1864 (1024x683)Weight: He is probably around 25 lbs.

IMG_1996 (2) (1024x683)Health:  This month his health has been all over the place. These last two teeth have been the worst yet. He is at 7.5 teeth. This last one you can see under there but it hasn’t broke through yet. He has 4 on top, and 3 on bottom with another coming through down there. He has had a really bad cough and a few fevers trying to get through this round of teething. And his mood has been at every end of the spectrum trying to break them through. Rough.

IMG_1959Diet: He eats what we eat, however he is starting to be a little more picky. There aren’t many vegetables that he will eat now, and he is not real big on meat except fish. Carbs are still his favorite. The squeeze pouches are like crack to him. He goes NUTS when I pull one of them out. Most days this is how he gets his veggies…He will always eat oatmeal and bananas. We gave him peanut butter for the first time after he turned 13 months, and he was in love. I think the teething has gotten in the way of his appetite, but I have also read that their hunger evens out as a toddler. Things are definitely interesting because one day he will eat something, and then the next day we will eat the same meal and he won’t have anything to do with it.

IMG_2015 (1024x683)Clothes:  He is safely in 12-18 months. He does still wear a lot of 12 month clothes. He is still in size 4 diapers, and we just recently moved into size 4 shoes. We are trying to wear shoes everywhere since George is wanting to walk everywhere. We even walk from the car to the babysitter’s…very slowly.

IMG_2051 (1024x683)Sleeping:  For the most part, he is sleeping from 7:30/8pm until 5am, give or take some minutes. These past two months have been a little rough if I am going to be honest though. Seriously these two teeth are the worst. We have had many more days than I am ok with that George wakes up at 4 am. I think he is also starting to protest the second nap, so we may be pulling that soon. We have serious issues when we travel. He doesn’t like sleeping in new environments, so it takes us a lot of work to get him to sleep when we aren’t home. He sleeps on me a lot when we are traveling.

IMG_1952 (1024x683)Likes: He loves to make noise. He will bang anything on the floor. He loves our racquetball racket. He is usually carrying it around the house at all times. He has started to climb, so he wants to get to the highest point possible whenever he can. He likes the dog food and is always trying to sneak it before we can put the bowls up on the counter. He loves to sweep. He gets somad when we try to take the broom away from him. He is more reactive to music, and he even dances now. He likes to sleep in our bed. He really enjoys taking every toy out of it’s crate or box. It’s a toy minefield in our house. He loves to play “up down”, which is going up and down stairs or over floor ledges. This would be great if he actually could do it by himself safely. Usually we are holding on to him when he is on the stairs. He also really likes to get in all the kitchen cabinets and pull everything out. He is also fond of putting his hand in the toliet. I never thought I would have to say, “George, don’t chew on the toliet seat.”

IMG_1999 (1024x683)Dislikes: He does not like it when I leave him alone. He has started his separation anxiety and screams when we leave. He does not like to be told what to do. Car rides are not his favorite, although I have found the trick of just giving him all the pacys. He does NOT like to sit still. I cannot take pictures of him by myself anymore, which is a sad sad thing.

IMG_1965 (1024x683)Milestones: He is trying to run, which is the best thing to watch ever. There is a hop step that happens as he waddles trying to catch himself when he goes faster than he realizes he body can. He dances now which is so cute. He has started talking. This happened the day of his 12 month appointment when the doctor said she was concerned he hadn’t said anything yet. He said “mama” that night just to prove her wrong. His words are “mama, dada, woof, and dah (dog). He points (he points with his middle finger sometimes…). He shakes his head no. He is much more consistent on waving goodbye. He throws things. He thinks everything is a ball. He makes faces now, and we can definitely see his personality coming through. He is generally a happy guy who loves to explore and be around us.

IMG_1897 (1024x683)Quirks: He is really shy now, even around people he knows. He will run to us and hug our legs and burrow his head in our knees.

We parents are:  Things have been busy. Tom has been on the worst shift this past month with hardly any weekends off so we have hardly seen him. I am excited that he is off this weekend, and we have no plans except to stuff our face with Halloween candy.

IMG_1835 (2) (683x1024)The dogs are: doing wonderfully. George pets the dogs now. He just lights up when he sees them (except when they lick his face). I am not surprised one of his first words was dog. He also gives them hugs on their back. He lays his head on their back and pats them. He is only not gentle on their face. He grabs and pinches their jowls. He also loves to play fetch with their toys. And luckily the dogs are really gentle when George takes them back away to play the game. Watching their relationship is so enduring.

Look how much Gdubs has grown! Look at his legs!

Tie ComparisonWe are having such a great time discovering what it means to be a family of 3 (5 including the dogs). We are loving seeing George’s personality develop even more every day into a sweet little man.

IMG_2043 (1024x819)How in the world do we have a toddler?

A Baseball First Birthday Party

For George’s birthday, I wanted to do a classic baseball theme. I found these signs at Hobby Lobby last fall (on sale), and that was what started my thought process of the party planning.

11915128_10100890814468031_3876643987451444464_oI have been collecting things over the past 6 months, and then the past month we made the last minute touches.

So here is a look at our celebration of George’s first year.

1495287_10100890815146671_6681852672207887605_oLet’s start with the decorations.

12002413_10100890814248471_7457861057421633721_oThese were our centerpieces. I was able to get a pound of peanuts for $2 at our local grocery store. A pound goes a loooong way. Real baseballs were expensive, so I bought these stress balls instead for super super cheap. I think I got 24 for less than I could get one real baseball. We also had sunflower seed bags and Big League Chew gum that people could take. And of course a little Royals flair had to show up.

12002421_10100890814333301_3635579347020662466_oI really wanted to emphasize how far George has come, so the month to month pictures with the NICU picture was a must. The tags say “Rookie Year.” We made these with our Cricut and a punch out device.

11922956_10100890815705551_1934204914936988137_oWe printed these large architecture prints at Staples for cheap. I took the first baseball one when he was a couple weeks old. The middle picture is one of our favorites, and he was 6 months then. The last one is from his invitation shoot when he was 11 months old. Tom and I made that dugout sign. When George graduates to a big boy bed, we are going to change his decor to a baseball theme, so this will eventually go in there. I will share how we did that later this week!

11894504_10100890815745471_8853660199750160468_oThat mitt is actually a pool floatie that my sister-in-law found online.

11935134_10100890814168631_24198640669325182_oI saw this autograph idea on Pinterest, and it was just too cute not to do. We made the sign using our Cricut and a pre-made scrapbooking sheet.

10429494_10100890813759451_2016854847409029975_nThis is the cupcake stand. Tom made this, and I helped with the baseball stitches. I will share this soon too!

10699694_10100890814812341_800984713648129066_oThis scoreboard is another piece that will go in George’s room. It is a chalkboard sign, so eventually we see George playing with that as his imagination grows.

11999750_10100890814562841_2134369407922666121_oI found a picnic table cloth that looks like grass so we could do the cake smash on it easily instead of doing a high chair. My SIL got the idea to have a grandstand behind him once I told her about the grass. She found that wall hanging and the blow-up catcher on Zulily I believe.

For the food, we did hot dogs of course, but I wanted it to be pretty low key and easy to prepare. We also had popcorn, a fruit and veggie tray, cookies, Hostess cakes, ice cream, and cake pops.

11823033_10100890813894181_3897622861416448086_oWe made this sign to make it be a “concession” stand.

11922848_10100890814487991_2627504259060178010_oWe had it in our church gym, and the kitchen opens up nicely to add to the concession ambiance.

12002487_10100890814068831_4531515354860644404_oMy SIL has a cookie lady who does an AMAZING job decorating cookies. Seriously, look at those things! We also found Hostess baseball cakes which are on our nicely made baseball theme cupcake stand. My father-in-law found the KC Royals peanut bags at a local grocery store, so obviously we had to have those added! I found the Royals napkins at party store here, and there are also regular baseball ones.

12002621_10100890814847271_8820623049336009798_oMy SIL, the party planner, also has a cake pop lady, so yep these happened.

11953530_10100890815605751_1451344335719024023_oThese were our party favors. I just made balls that say, “Thanks for Coming! Hope You Had a Ball!” I made them in Publisher and printed them out myself. Easy peasy. I got a bulk box of them off Amazon for like 10 bucks.

Since there are a lot of kids in our family, we knew we had to have something for them to do to get all the sillies out. So we had inflatable balls and bats just thrown all over the gym. They had a “ball.”

11952796_10100890815670621_1129773986657203551_oMy SIL found these online in a 12 pack, which covered all the kiddos in case they didn’t want to share. And same with the baseball beach balls.

11936507_10100890815016931_2986832896686764566_o 11934968_10100890815121721_3675045106625245992_o 11928712_10100890815001961_7861883815618159264_oSo I bought this little bloomer outfit when George was like 4 months old, and let’s just say it’s a good thing he only wore if for a couple hours. It was a tad snug. 11226056_10100890815481001_294038128549587501_o 11227588_10100890815555851_6063895141694271798_o 11958050_10100890815426111_171671363350497930_oI mean this shirt was just calling my name. Especially when I got it for $4. He wore this after he dabbled in the icing.

12002358_10100890815406151_2526204293931605475_oTom made the baseball cake.

11227566_10100890815306351_580281061381427075_oDoesn’t the backdrop look awesome?

11937031_10100890815391181_3689082686254034623_oThe nice thing about doing it at the church was that it had an industrial kitchen with a big sink perfect for hosing George down.

10669051_10100890814108751_5408306421864629906_oThis is George’s great-grandma who is 96.

11823050_10100890814667631_8620753340258403849_oThese are George’s only first cousins, one from my side and one from Tom’s. I love that we were able to have them both there!

11947912_10100890814747471_8642003758167197522_oYes Tom is awesome for agreeing to match me in these baseball tees that were basically heat traps. Seriously so much sweat…

Tom and I love this little man. We are amazed by him every single day. We are so blessed, and we never knew how much our hearts would grow to let him in. I know George won’t remember this day, but this celebration was also to thank all of our family and friends for being there and supporting us in our first year as parents.

Can’t wait to see where year 2 takes us. We are oh so curious at what big things will happen.

Like talking. George said his first word this week. He said ‘mama!’

We had so much fun putting this baseball party together and celebrating George!
