Fit for Me 41/52

What I did last week:

Thursday-30 minutes on a bike.

Weekend-We were out an about most of the weekend. So most of the weekend was spent chasing a toddler. It is fair to say that I was too exhausted to go out for another workout. Prime example is spending a quarter of a football game walking up and down stadium steps to ensure George didn’t bust his head on the concrete because “he knows how to do stairs.”

Tuesday-30 minutes on the elliptical.

Impressed by:

George’s energy and my ability to somewhat keep up.

Struggled with:

This past week was a mess with life stuff so doing things for me was not much of an option.

Did I meet my goal from last week?

Nope…no run in my schedule.

What is my goal for next week?

Take George out on the Katy Trail and explore. This is our first and last free weekend in a long while so I want to soak up some outdoor exploring with Gman since Tom works all weekend.

Fitness Thoughts:

I wish I could run outside and watch Netflix at the same time.

What workouts did you do this week?

Fit for Me 40/52

What I did last week:

Thursday-30 minutes on a bike.

Sunday-We went to a pumpkin patch. If you have ever chased a toddler around you know how much of a workout it can be trying to keep him from climbing into every wagon in sight or falling headfirst into the chicken coop or hay bales. I was exhausted after our two hours exploring there.

Impressed by:

Not really a whole lot…whoops.

Struggled with:

Getting my butt out the door. My mom was here this weekend, and I wasn’t feeling so hot the beginning of this week for my normal workout times. Better luck next week.

Did I meet my goal from last week?

Nope…

What is my goal for next week?

I want to go for a good run. I haven’t really done a good one since my 10k, and I want to get some quality miles under me. (See same goal as last week, trying again.)

Fitness Thoughts:

I am in a rut. There are so many other things that I would rather be doing than working out right now. I need to find a way back into a routine.

This was me yesterday….

How do you get out of a rut? Do you find that you have too many other things that working out takes a backseat?

I made my way back this week!

What I did last week:

Thursday-30 minute walk/run around downtown Columbia.

Saturday-1 hour of BodyPump. It has been a couple months since I have made it to a class, and my thighs are still yelling at me 4 days later. It was a great workout though!

Sunday-We had a pretty busy day, so I had to get creative. Our driveway is about a tenth of a mile long with a big gradual hill. I decided to walk the uphill and run the downhill for 20 minutes before I needed to get ready for church that day.

Tuesday-30 minutes on a bike.

Impressed by:

I was still able to keep up with BodyPump. I didn’t have to take any breaks! I downgraded my weight at the start because I haven’t done it in a while, but I still kept up with each track.

Struggled with:

Honestly, I didn’t really have any struggles with my fitness this week. Pats on the back.

Did I meet my goal from last week?

I made it to Body Pump!

What is my goal for next week?

I want to go for a good run. I haven’t really done a good one since my 10k, and I want to get some quality miles under me.

Fitness Thoughts:

The weather is getting cooler around here so it is going to be harder to feel inspired to go workout some days. I need to find other ways to feel motivated to stay away from “winter bod.” Have you ever heard of winter bod? I hadn’t until this week. Honestly though, I need to continue working out to keep up with all the winter foods. Bring me all the casseroles and holiday breads.

First off, Crosby is doing good. They were only able to find that one tumor, so they got that out with no problems. His leg issue is a joint issue which could be early signs of hip dysplasia or arthritis. So we have some things that we are going to try at home to treat that for the time being. Thank you for all the good thoughts and prayer our way. He will be back home this afternoon!

On to my fitness log…

Well this week is slightly embarrassing.

What I did last week:

Thursday-30 minutes on a bike.

womp. womp.

Struggled with:

Life just happened this week, and working out just took a back seat. But in other news we have pictures up on the wall.

Did I meet my goal from last week?

I failed miserably this last week. But I can’t let this one week define me.

What is my goal for next week?

So it turns out that we cannot cancel our gym membership until January even though we moved out of the city. That was a major bummer. So my goal is to make it to a class on Saturday so it is not a complete waste of money each month.

Fitness Thoughts:

Sometimes I think you just need to have a down week. I am not training for anything big like the Olympics, and I try to stay fairly healthy with what I eat. But sometimes this home-girl needs to just sit on the couch and watch some Ellen for a few hours. These weeks are good for me as long as it doesn’t become a routine.

What I did last week:

Thursday-I did a 65 minute training run. It was supposed to be a 50 minute run, but I accidentally went too far past my half way point, and when you are on an out and back path, you have to get back to your car some how. So I hit all my times and then some. I was really impressed with myself!

Tuesday-30 minutes on the elliptical. My race is on Sunday, so I decided to forgo the training runs and just do some easy low impact workouts to save my knees. I still pushed myself pretty hard on the machine.

Impressed by:

Meeting all my split times on Thursday, AND running the extra way. I could have just walked it all back since I did my training run, but I did some more interval runs.

Struggled with:

I only managed two workouts, so hopefully after this 10K on Sunday I can refocus.

Did I meet my goal from last week?

I did not do all of my training runs. This weekend was kind of taken up with George’s birthday and family. Sometimes you have other priorities than working out.

What is my goal for next week?

I would like to beat my previous 10K time on Sunday. Considering the last 10K I ran, I was in much better shape, it could be a stretch.

Fitness Thoughts:

I am really excited for the race on Sunday. There is something about races that get me jazzed. And it is through my hometown, so I am excited to run through the Plaza.

What’s your favorite part of race day? Do you have sea legs walking to your car after a long run?
